National Coffee Day

Today is National Coffee Day! If you are a true coffee connoisseur, every day is coffee day for you. But why not celebrate in an extra special way and spend the entire day thinking about coffee, specialty coffee recipes, coffee houses, one-day coffee discounts and more?

On a recent trip to Europe we discovered that a Starbucks location was harder to locate than most cities back in the United States. In Riga, Latvia we found Amber Coffee and Costa Coffee to be the most popular with residents and tourists alike. In the United Kingdom it was Costa and our favorite Caffè Nero. In fact, the latter locations were so delicious that we Googled them to see if there were any United States locations. To our surprise, the only city in America with Caffè Nero was the Boston, Massachusetts metro. Well, we can dream of the day when they finally come to California.

Would you choose a coffee location for their desserts? We have found several locations with sweet delights that added something special to the coffee journey. But, for the most part, the taste and aroma of the coffee is most important thing to us.

Covid-19 has changed our daytrip habits and my wife and I do not make the random stops that we used to make when a past favorite or a well-publicized location came into view. But we keep them on our coffee radar for future visits. Do you have a local favorite that is not one of the larger coffee chains? Let us know. We are always up for an adventure.

In future blogs, we will discuss what we drink at home, our ways of brewing coffee, thoughts about flavored coffees and more. For now, enjoy National Coffee Day and thanks for stopping by. Be sure to bookmark this location to find us easily next time around.
